Butebo
Butebo District is found in the Bukedi sub region of Eastern Uganda. The district became operational on 1 July 2017 but prior to then, it was “Butebo County” in Pallisa District.
It has 7 sub counties, 31 Parishes and 234 villages and a population size of 111,762
The District has over 77 farmers organizations currently with 38 Community Based Organizations, 5 Farmers Associations , 28 Farmers Groups , 6 Cooperatives , 10 Women Group , 3 Youth Group .
The most spoken language is Lugwere and other languages spoken are Lusoga and Ateso.
The economic activity practiced by the locals is agriculture and the crops grown include maize andbananas.
Tourists in Butebo can visit the district’s central market.
