Pallisa District is located in Eastern Uganda, and covers approximately, a total area of 1095 square km. With a population estimated at 283,765, 55% of the people are children below 18 years of age. The district is 224.1 km from Kampala. Major languages spoken here are Lugwere and Ateso.

The main economic activities in Pallisa are agriculture. Crops grown both for food and sale include: cassava, beans, groundnuts, rice, potatoes, millet, maize and bananas. Farmers also rear animals like cattle, goats, poultry, sheep and pigs.
